A better way to hold the laryngoscope in infants!Direct Laryngoscopy in adults requires a fair amount of lifting and pushing and for that reason using the full grip of the handle has classically been taught and practiced (Figure 1). There are some variations to this technique to maximize lift and precision and involve some amount of grab on the proximal end of the blade. Intubating neonates and infants using proper technique does not require much lifting, but does require precision control over the tip of the blade for finer adjustments. Holding a straight blade as shown in Figure 2 allows for better stabilization of the blade and more precise control over the tip
